Our specialist for chronic pain and stress management
MBChB FRCP FAChSHM
Dr Fraser Drummond is a Specialist Consultant and Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine (RACP), with over 30 years of experience supporting patients through both conventional and natural therapies. He focuses on chronic health concerns such as pain, stress, anxiety and sleep disturbances, integrating evidence-based approaches with patient-centred care.
Originally from Scotland, Dr Drummond earned his medical degree at the University of Aberdeen in 1990. He began in Emergency Medicine before moving into HIV care in 1996. His career includes clinical trial coordination and sexual health training at the Kirby Institute in Sydney, as well as leadership roles in the HIV sector, including Medical Director at ViiV Healthcare Australasia. He also contributes to the community as a Non-Executive Director of the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation, Australia’s oldest HIV charity. At myQuest, Dr Drummond brings his extensive clinical experience to provide tailored care for patients with complex or chronic conditions.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
“Working with often stigmatised patients, or those whose conditions don’t respond to standard therapies, is both a privilege and an honour. Creating a treatment plan requires understanding not just the condition, but the patient’s broader circumstances and social situation. The most rewarding part of this role is getting to know people over time and seeing how they respond as their treatment progresses. One of the particular joys of working at myQuest Clinic is speaking with patients over 70 — an arbitrary marker of seniority, often managing multiple conditions and medications — and seeing improvements to their quality of life. I often say that the sound of someone over 70 giggling is one of the most precious sounds to hear.”
